When is the TMUA 2027? Dates, registration and deadlines
The TMUA is administered by UAT-UK and delivered by Pearson VUE at test centres worldwide. For 2027 entry there are two sittings, in October 2026 and January 2027. This page lists the dates that matter, but always confirm them against the official UAT-UK deadlines page before you rely on them.
The two test windows
- October sitting: 12 to 16 October 2026
- January sitting: 4 to 8 January 2027
Candidates in China, Hong Kong and Macau have restricted dates within each window. Cambridge and Oxford applicants must sit in October, so for most of them the January window does not apply.
Registration timeline
You create an account and then book your own test slot at a Pearson VUE centre. The key deadlines for 2027 entry are:
- Account creation opens: 1 June 2026
- Booking opens (October): 20 July 2026
- Booking closes (October): 28 September 2026, 6pm
- Booking opens (January): 26 October 2026
- Booking closes (January): 21 December 2026, 6pm
Book early. Test centre slots are limited and popular centres fill up, especially close to the deadline.
Results
- October results: 16 November 2026
- January results: 8 February 2027
Fees and bursaries
The fee is 78 pounds for candidates in the UK and Republic of Ireland, and 133 pounds for the rest of the world. If you live permanently in the UK and are in financial need, you may qualify for a bursary that lets you book the test free of charge. Apply and get approval before you book, because UAT-UK cannot reimburse a test you have already paid for. The bursary deadline for the October sitting is 21 September 2026, and access-arrangement requests for extra time or other adjustments are due by 14 September 2026.
One sitting per cycle
You can take the TMUA only once per admissions cycle, and only your first score counts. You cannot sit both windows to pick the better result, and a score cannot be carried into a future year. If you are unsure which window to choose, see our guide to sitting the TMUA in October or January.
Before you book
Check which universities require the TMUA and for which courses on our requirements pages, then start timed preparation with our past papers. Knowing your test date lets you plan backwards so your practice peaks at the right time.
