Roughly how raw marks map onto the scale

UAT-UK / Pearson VUE does not publish its conversion, so every table you will find online, including this one, is an estimate. Ours is anchored on the only raw-to-scaled figures that have been released publicly: 35% of the marks corresponded to 4.5, and 65% of the marks corresponded to 7.0. Those figures come from an earlier sitting under the test's previous administrator, on the scale used at the time, so read the table as a sense of proportion rather than a target to hit.

Where a score sits nationally

A more useful question than what a good score is, is good compared to whom. These are the approximate scores at each point of the cohort, and it is worth remembering how narrow that cohort is: everyone sitting the TMUA has already chosen a competitive maths-heavy course, so the middle of this distribution is not the middle of your school year.

What score do you actually need?
